• About Us

Ladies' Circle is an international organisation for young women between the ages of 18 and 45. It has its roots in England where the wives of Round Table members founded the first Circle in Bournemouth in 1930. The idea of forming a Ladies' Circle International became real after contacts between members of first three countries - LC GB&I, LC Sweden and LC Denmark, and in 1959 the international organisation of Ladies' Circle (LCI) was established.

Ladies' Circle is now represented in 36 countries, across four continents with over 13,000 members.

Ladies' Circle International has a constitution which is based on equality of all member associations within the international structure.

Ladies' Circle International motto: "Friendship and Service".

Every year Ladies' Circle International holds an Annual General Meeting in a chosen country in the last week of August or first week of September, where the activities of the previous year are reviewed, the new office bearers are elected; the way forward for the organization is charted. The best part of this event is that participants renew friendship and make new everlasting ones.

    AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

    · To promote Friendship between Circlers locally, nationally and internationally

    · To be Non-Political and Non Sectarian

    · To participate whenever possible and desirable in social charitable services

    Social project “Children of Lapiai“

    • Social Project of LC Lithuania 2015/2016

      „Children of Lapiai“

Aim:  Support children from Lapiai children‘s home improving living conditions, diversifying their after class activities and help to take care of teeth and mouth hygiene.

Target group: Orphanages and children from families of social risk living in Lapiai children’s house (10-18 years).

50 kids live in the dormitory during the school year. The children of the custody group live permanently, while socially supported children and those of disadvantages families go home. During the summer 26 children live without parental care.

Duration:  From May of 2015 till May of 2016.

The main problems which face children and social workers from Lapiai children‘s house:

      1. The dormitory in which children live is very old and is in a very bad condition. The building itself is in wrecking state, old windows, floor and doors. Thermal Isolation of the building terrible, which causes very low temperature inside during the winter time. Sometimes the temperature in the building reaches only 15 Celsius degrees. Heating is also ineffective. The dormitory building is over 100 years old. Since entering the European Union the dormitory does not qualify for the European standards. The dormitory is 330 sq., wrecking state, unfit for child care. Nine children live in one room (i.e. one child has only a bed in the room); there is one common bathroom, one shower, 3 common use sinks.
      2. Children’s dental health is inappropriate.  Children’s teeth are crooked and aesthetic. Therefore children need dental treatment of high quality.
      3. Children need additional after school activities. They must be busy and educated in not only basic courses at school, but also must be promoted their creativity that could express themselves.

      Project Activities:

      • Organize bigger variety of leisure activities.
      • Spend more time with children actively communicating and making handicrafts.
      • Educate children about dental care and hygiene.
      • Organize charity concert to support children form Lapiai children‘s house.
